These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and The Visionary Platform Ltd (“Stride”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and govern your use of the Stride application and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) and able to form a binding contract. If you use Stride on behalf of an organisation (e.g. a yard), you confirm you’re authorised to accept these Terms for it.
2. The Service
Stride is an equine intelligence platform that lets you record information about horses (rides, competition results, recovery, health records, notes, photos and video) and provides computed insights and AI-assisted features (the “Genome”, intelligence scores, HorseGPT, Stride Coach, Stride Vision, Gait Analysis, Digital Twin, stable dashboards and similar).
We may add, change or remove features over time.
3. Your account
- You’re responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Keep your password secure and notify us of any unauthorised use.
- You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
- Stride offers a Free tier and paid tiers (Pro, Elite) with additional features.
- Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) through the applicable app store or payment processor, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid features until then.
- Except where required by law (e.g. statutory withdrawal/refund rights), payments are non-refundable. Where you purchase via an app store, that store’s refund policy and terms also apply.
- We may change prices; we’ll give reasonable notice and changes won’t affect the period you’ve already paid for.
5. Your content and data
- You retain ownership of the data and content you put into Stride (“Your Content”).
- You grant us a licence to host, store, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide and improve the Service for you, including sending relevant inputs to our AI providers (see the Privacy Policy).
- You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to provide it. In particular, you confirm that you have permission to upload any horse images, videos, veterinary records, competition records, and stable or yard information you submit, and that you are authorised to share any third-party information contained in it.
6. AI, animal health and welfare — important disclaimers
Stride uses artificial intelligence, machine-learning models, computer vision and data-analysis technologies to generate observations, summaries, trends and estimated insights. These features support your decisions; they do not make them for you, and they are not professional advice. This Section 6 is central to your agreement with us — please read it carefully.
6.1 AI and animal-health disclaimer
Stride does not provide, and its outputs must not be treated as:
- veterinary diagnosis;
- medical advice;
- treatment or medication recommendations;
- rehabilitation or recovery plans;
- emergency or triage assessment; or
- professional riding, training or coaching advice.
Any indication, score or observation relating to injury, lameness, movement abnormality, hoof condition, wound severity, recovery, or performance readiness is an informational observation only. Stride cannot determine the cause, severity, prognosis, or appropriate treatment of any condition. Features such as Gait Analysis, Stride Vision and recovery or readiness scores measure or describe; they do not diagnose.
You must seek advice from a qualified veterinary professional or appropriate equine specialist before making any decision affecting an animal’s health, welfare, treatment, training intensity, competition participation or rehabilitation.
6.2 Animal welfare responsibility
You remain solely responsible for:
- monitoring and directly observing your horse;
- recognising signs of distress, pain, illness or injury;
- seeking professional assistance when needed;
- complying with all applicable animal-welfare laws; and
- ensuring appropriate training, handling and competition practices.
Stride is not a substitute for observing an animal directly.
6.3 AI accuracy and limitations
AI and computed outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed or unavailable, and may vary because of factors including image or video quality, lighting, camera angle, movement speed, environmental conditions, incomplete information, and the inherent limitations of AI models. No output is a guarantee, certification, or professional assessment, and none should be relied on as such.
6.4 Performance insights — no guarantee
Performance scores, predictions, readiness indicators and competition insights are estimates generated from the data available to Stride. They do not guarantee competition results, injury prevention, improved performance, training outcomes, or horse behaviour.
6.5 Digital Twin
Digital Twin and similar visualisations are representations and simulations intended to aid understanding. They are not a medical, anatomical, biomechanical or veterinary representation of an individual animal, and must not be relied on as one.
6.6 Experimental and beta features
Some features may be labelled beta, preview, experimental or concept features. These may change, contain errors, behave unexpectedly, or be withdrawn at any time, and are provided without any assurance of accuracy or availability.
6.7 Emergency situations
Stride is not an emergency service. If an animal appears injured, distressed, ill, or at immediate risk, contact a qualified professional or appropriate emergency service without delay — do not wait for, or rely on, the Service.
6.8 Professional users
If you use Stride in a professional capacity — including as a trainer, veterinarian, farrier, yard or stable manager, or other equine professional — you remain responsible for exercising your own professional judgement. Stride does not replace professional expertise, examination, clinical assessment, or your own records, and you must not present its outputs as a professional diagnosis or assessment.
You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on the Service, and for the care and welfare of any animal.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully, or in breach of others’ rights;
- upload content you don’t have the right to, or that is harmful, infringing or unlawful;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, overload, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users’ data;
- misuse the AI features (e.g. to generate harmful or unlawful content);
- resell or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding (“Stride”, “Stride Genome”, “Stride Vision”, “Mission Control” and related marks) and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service per these Terms. You get no other rights.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (e.g. Supabase, Google, Groq, Resend, Cloudflare, app stores and payment processors). Your use may be subject to their terms, and we’re not responsible for third-party services.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that outputs will be accurate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to Section 10:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or loss of profit, data, goodwill, or for any harm to or arising from the care of an animal where you relied on the Service contrary to Section 6; and
- our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or Your Content, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where reasonably necessary. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. content licence limits, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. For material changes we’ll provide reasonable notice (e.g. in-app or by email). Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you’re a consumer you may also have rights to bring proceedings in your local courts.
